The Birds Are Coming!

Spring is coming the birds are coming. Are you prepared to accommodate the wondrous winged beauties? I have been preparing our yard by cleaning out the birdhouses of last years nests. This is a good time to clean your bird feeders. Are there birds you want to attract? If so providing the right birdhouse, and food is essential. Do you have problems with squirrels attacking your feeders? How about those nuisance starlings who love to eat all the suet. Having a plan is important on what your backyard priorities are. Another important step in attracting birds is natural habitat. Providing trees, flowers and bushes not only provide cover for the birds but certain ones provide a food source. For example the cedar tree has a berry that wax wings love, among other bird species. Having a natural food source encourages the birds and helps them feel more secure in your yard.
